Pancho's 6th Birthday

It's Pancho's 6th birthday. And he doesn't want to have a party, at first he just wanted to spend the whole day in the pool and spend the night a in a hotel room. But we want to make it special for him so instead we went to the beach and spend the night in a suite. This was also the first time for us to go on a vacation, just the four of us without a yaya. The last time me and Dada were here at Caylabne was 15 yrs ago, we were as excited as the kids. We got there a day before his birthday and when he woke up the next day, there was a birthday cake waiting for him at the restaurant for breakfast. Dada requested the chef to bake a birthday cake for Pancho the night before and they even prepared the birthday breakfast by the boardwalk! I'll be posting the pics next time....

Hay naku, more than 2

Hay naku, more than 2 weeks na pala ang nakalipas. Bakit kung kelan summer parang mas naging busy ako? Kasi naman walang pasok mga bata kaya abala sa pag aalaga.

Tapos na ang swimming lesson ni Pancho, actually naka 2 modules pa sya. Pagkatapos ng isa nag enroll pa sya ulit, so 20 days of swimming lessons. Si Maki naman tinapos lang ang 1st module. He wanted to try taekwondo pero na late na kami sa lessons so next year na lang.

Birthday na ni Pancho sa saturday, 6 yrs old na sya. Six years ago I was rushed to the hospital due to ruptured membrane. Wala akong kasama sa bahay nun, si dada nasa work, sila mommy naman nasa meeting de avance for Joe De Venecia kasi naman last campaign day na yun for the 1998 presidential election. I can clearly remember, I was watching TV patrol around 6 pm when suddenly my water bag broke. So I called my mom and dada tapos I took a quick shower (na hindi pala dapat), si Mommy ang naunang nakauwi so punta na kami agad sa Cardinal Santos. Since I wasn't feeling any pain at all, calmado pa ako, I even went to the front desk instead of the emergency room and told them that I think my water bag broke, immediately I was rushed to the prep room, then to the labor rm. After a while the whole family was there already. Six hours has passed and still I was there no pain and no contraction at all. In other words hindi ako nag karon ng chance na mag labor so wala akong horror stories to tell about labor pains. But 6 hours is a long time to wait for the baby to come out after a ruptured membrane, lalo na ng makita sa fetal monitor na humihina na ang activity ng baby and bumababa na ang heart beat rate kasi nga daw wala ng water so hirap na yung baby. So the doctor told me that they have to do an emergency c section because of the baby's condition with the assurance that he can bring out the baby in 5 mins.

I was transferred to the operating room, I was lucky enough, since I wasn't distracted by labor pains I was able to witness the whole thing. My mom went with me inside the OR, ayaw ni dada kasi daw ninenerbyos sya, kaya si mommy talagang super pictorial habang inooperahan ako. I was on spinal anesthesia kaya talagang gising ako the whole time.

It only took the doctor a little over 5 mins to get Pancho out kasi naman i have to give him instructions dahil gusto ko very low bikini cut, hehehe. Buti na lang hindi KJ yung doctor ko kasi naman lalaki sya kaya hindi masyadong maselan (kahawig pa ni Lou Veloso/ Mr. Truman) kaya imbes na drama kami sa operating room naging comedy with his sense of humor. Nobody knew if the baby was going to ba a boy or a girl. The only time that I had an ultrasound was when I was about 2 mos pregnant just to check the baby's heartbeat. So it was a guessing game all through out my pregnancy. And almost everybody thought that it would be a baby girl, even my OB though it was a girl. Naalala ko pa sabi ni Dr. Salvador habang hinihiwa yung tyan ko....."sigurado ako babae ito". So when Pancho got out at about a little past 12 am, Friday, May 8, weighing 7.15 lbs, the first thing that my OB showed me was Pancho's "little boy", tapos tawa sya ng tawa, lalaki pala.

After that it was time for me to go to sleep kasi kailangan na nilang mag concentrate sa cross stitch ng tyan ko. So sinaksakan na ako ng pampatulog.

Kahit na c section ako at sobrang sakit ng tahi ko, I opted for rooming-in arrangement with Pancho kasi nga excited ako sa kanya. I gave birth friday and after 2 days I went home, just in time for my very first mother's day. And what better way to spend mother's day with a newborn baby in your arms.
